My Story

Journalism:

Grace's journalism career began in 2007 when she joined her high school's award-winning student paper, the Central Times, and she quickly rose to the role of Head News Editor. She went on to pursue a Print and Digital Journalism degree at the University of Southern California where she wrote and edited the news section of the student newspaper, Daily Trojan.

After she graduated in 2009, she interned with the Long Beach Press-Telegram before working for the Daily Breeze in 2014. Grace then became a Beat Reporter covering five cities for the Inland Valley Daily Bulletin and the San Bernardino Sun.

She was accepted into the competitive MetPro program in 2015 and became a General Assignments reporter resident with the Chicago Tribune. In September 2017, she was brought on by the Chicago Tribune Food & Dining team as an Editorial Assistant before she was promoted to Reporter in April 2018. She left the Chicago Tribune in 2020 after more than five years with the publication. She now works in healthcare.

Music

When she's not chasing stories, Grace channeled her childhood love of music into a humble operation on YouTube. Writing, recording and producing covers and original music, Grace has utilized software like Audacity, GarageBand and iMovie to create content that has led to performances at festivals and private events.
